whelmed over

What would the light be without the darkness? And how would the melody delight if not for the dissonance? Where would we be without adversity, without trial, without the conflict that gives meaning to the triumph?

So, what would the light be without the darkness?

  1. One can still relish goodness without experience of bad, just the savoring from knowledge of its absence that is lost.

Is evil necessary for good? Light without darkness is blindingly permeating...isn't light by definition a realm lacking darkness?
